March… Woman’s History Month. It’s time to celebrate another great reader. I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful, amazing lady at a reader-author event, we’d been talking and chatting for months before meeting. One of my biggest supporters, I’m so thankful for Denise Williams Cherry. She is one of the most generous, friendly and loving woman I have had the pleasure of meeting and calling my friend. Denise Williams Cherry gives without asking for anything in return. I’m still waiting for Denise to publish her own book, believe me she has what it takes. She is married with three beautiful kids. She works for the world’s greatest boss, at the North Carolina court system. She has some of the most amazing friends. I asked her to mention three things people may not know about her: She’s a foodie, loves to travel and she loves riding motorcycles.

  1. Outside of reading what do you like to do? Spending time with my family.
  2. What is your all-time favorite book? I know why the Caged Bird Sing by Maya Angelou.
  3. What are you reading right now? I’m currently reading Scarred by Marie Long.
  4. Favorite book you’ve read last year? Love through Pain by Ancelli and Waiting to Breathe Series by Love Belvin.
  5. Favorite place to read? My bed and my recliner.
  6. What makes you love a book? The book has to draw me in. It has to capture my mind and stroke my imagination. I have to feel like I am an extra in the book. I need to feel when they are going through their emotions.
  7. What will inspire you to recommend a book? If I am losing sleep because I can’t put it down, it gets and automatic recommend from me.
  8. Favorite genre? I love all genres except Historical, ménage, urban lit and same sex.
  9. Do you have a reading snack? Yes, I love chocolate and ice cream. And I have a love hate relationship with alcoholic beverages. I love to drink them at night and they hate me in the mornings.
  10. How do you feel about giving bad/negative reviews? I usually don’t give written reviews. I will rate them on Goodreads.
  11. How many books do you usually read in a month? I am going to embarrass myself but I usually read about 15+ books a month.
  12. The longest you’ve gone without reading? A week after I had the flu. I suffered from headaches and my eyes were hurting as well.
  13. What would cause you to stop reading a book halfway through? Grammatical errors, misspelled and missing words. A book filled with words instead of substances. And it just doesn’t hold my attention anymore.
  14. Name a book that made you angry? I can’t name the book but it’s a recent release that I have been waiting for over a year for the author to finish. She finally finishes it and it’s a short short story.
  15. If you could be a character in a book, who would it be and why? I really don’t know.
  16. Who are your favorite authors? Ugh that’s like asking me which one of my children I like best. Off top of my head. Sienna Mynx, Ancelli, Kassanna, Violette Dubinsky, Yvette Hines, SK, Eve Vaughan, Lena Matthews, S.k. Lessley, and the list goes on and on.
  17. Have you ever considered writing a book? Yes, I have. Even have three started. I will finish them one day.
  18. What makes you buy a book? Can’t judge a book by it’s cover~~ I strongly disagree. The cover has to grab me. And then the blurb has to pique my interest. I even take suggestions from other readers but I DO NOT read reviews.
  19. Name your most memorable character? Jason from Wheel of Steels series by Pepper Pace
  20. If you could change places with a character for one day, who would it be and why? I would probably change places with Marcella in Mi Carina Carino Series by Sienna Mynx or Jasmine in Love Through Pain to spend a day with Javier.
  21. What book made you laugh? I think it would be between Sweet Child of Mine by Billy London and Booby Trapped and Baby Proofed by Imari Jade. I am sure there are more but these just stand out.
  22. What book made you cry? I Don’t Want to Love you by byLoreen James-Fisher
  23. What makes a character an Alpha? I think when a man loves a woman so strong that he lives and breathes her happiness. Knowing that his whole world would no longer exist without her in it. And craving her existence, more than anything and it drives him crazy when he’s not the center of her attention. And he’ll do whatever he takes to make her happy and to keep her safe, even if it’s from herself.
